ABSTRACT
To improve the mechanical properties and durability of bridge deck
pavement, four types of concrete are involved in this study, that is
Plant
concrete(PC), steel fibers reinforced concrete(SFC), steel fibers and
polypropylene
fibers reinforced concrete(SF-PFSC) and SF-PFSC with air-entraining
agent
(SF-PFSC+). The experimental researches on mechanical properties,
impermeability
and frost resistance of above four types concrete were done. The
experimental
results show that, comparing with other concrete with the same
fibre volume ratio, ,
SF-PFSC, in which the steel fabre was partial replaced with
polypropylene fibers,
presents better flexural strength, flexural toughness and good
durability,
impermeability and frost resistance. By adding air-entraining agent,
SF-PFSC+
shows not only excellent mechanical properties but also better
impermeability and
frost resistance. therefore, the SF-PFSC and SF-PFSC+ are suitable in
the bridge
deck pavement and can prolong the service life of bridge deck.
