Analysis of China’s Human Development Index Based on ESDA in 2010
Guo Jianhong
Abstract.
In this paper, ESDA has been applied in research of the spatial relatedness of 2010 human development indexes
(HDI) in China’s provinces, cities and regions, the results showed a spatial autocorrelation significance for life
expectancy, education and GDP three sub indexes and HDI comprehensive indexes (life expectancy, GDP and
HDI: p=0.001;education:p<0.05). Moran scatter plot and LISA indicators have shown that in Low-
High(LH)and High-Low(HL) non-typical regions, except for Xinjiang’s education index which is statistically
significantly (p<0.01), the indexes of other regions are not statistically significantly, which means that these
non-typical regions are not really non-typical. But in some High-High(HH) or Low-Low(LL )regions, the
indexes have significant spatial difference, which means that the indicators in these typical regions have spatial
difference.
